Assets are the files uploaded by Project Admins and Members — the media everyone works from once a project is underway. You'll find them on the Assets tab of a project, shown as cards in grid view or rows in list view.
Tip: Before you start, create your own folder to work in. Keeping your files in a clear location prevents confusion and makes sure you're always working with the right version. See Folders.

- Upload with + New Assets (top of the tab) or the global + New button (top-right of the project page). See Upload Assets.
- Narrow the view with the Owner, Category, Type, and Status filters, sort by Activity, and Search by asset.
- Switch layouts with the grid / list toggle.
- Select multiple assets for bulk actions. See Multi-Select Assets.

For how filters, search, and the view toggle behave across Postudio, see Search, Filters & Views.

Every asset card has an Asset Action (...) menu. The actions available depend on your permissions:
| Action | What it does |
| Copy Asset Name / Asset ID | Click to copy the asset's name or unique ID to your clipboard |
| Change Asset Status | Set the asset's workflow status (No Status, Needs Review, In Progress, Approved) |
| Organize | Rename, copy, or move the asset to another folder or project |
| Share | Share the asset for Review, Approval, or Download |
| Publish | Send the asset to an integrated platform (Amazon S3, Contido, Sprinklr) |
| Download | Download the proxy or original file |
| Metadata | View and copy technical details; add an Additional Name and Keywords |
| Copy Link | Copy a direct link for internal sharing |
| Delete | Permanently remove the asset |

Note: All asset actions are always shown in the menu, whether or not you have permission for them. If you tap an action you don't have permission for, Postudio displays an error — "Ask your team/project admin to enable this feature." — and the action doesn't run.
The Asset Action (...) menu is for one asset at a time; it's disabled while multiple assets are selected. For working on several at once, see Multi-Select Assets.
FAQs
Can I edit a file created by another user?
Yes. Any project member can open a file in the cloud system and continue from where a colleague left off, which makes handoffs and ongoing collaboration smooth within a shared project.

How do I search and filter my assets?

I clicked an action and got an error asking me to have it enabled.
Asset actions are always visible, but they only run if you have permission. If you tap one you're not permitted to use, Postudio shows "Ask your team/project admin to enable this feature." Contact your Team or Project Admin to have the permission enabled.

The whole Asset Action (...) menu is disabled — why?
You've selected more than one asset. The Asset Action (...) menu works on a single asset only; while multiple assets are selected it's greyed out. Use the bulk actions instead — see Multi-Select Assets.
