From the project, the Asset Metadata pop-up lets you enrich an asset with your own searchable details — an alias and keywords — alongside a summary of its core file information.
Add or Update Additional Metadata
- Go to your Project, and locate the asset.
- Click Asset Action (...), and select Metadata.
- In the Asset Metadata pop-up ("Add/update additional asset metadata") you can:
- Enter an Additional name — an alias for the asset (e.g. final cut).
- Add Keywords — type and select, or add to create new ones, to help with search and categorisation.
- Click Update to save your changes.

What the Pop-up Shows
Above the editable fields you'll see the asset's thumbnail, name, and upload date. Below them is a read-only summary of its core details:

Open the asset in the player and use the Metadata tab in the right sidebar. See Player Asset Metadata. The player view also reflects the Additional name and Keywords you set here.
FAQs
What's the difference between the Additional name and the file name?
The file name is the asset's original name; the Additional name is an alias you add on top of it, useful when the original file name isn't descriptive.

Why does "Modified on" show a date when I've never changed the asset?
"Modified" refers to renaming. Before an asset is renamed, Modified by is blank and Modified on simply falls back to the asset's upload/create date — so it looks populated even though nothing has been renamed. After a rename, both fields reflect who renamed it and when.
