ProView supports PDF files with a dedicated document viewer. When you open a PDF asset, it loads in a page-based interface designed for document review—with page navigation, zoom controls, page thumbnails, and page-anchored comments.
PDF Player Layout
When you open a PDF in the review player, the interface has five key areas:
- Top Navigation Bar—controls for navigating back, changing status, toggling Theatre Mode, and accessing more asset actions.
- Left Panel—a scrollable strip of page thumbnails for quick navigation.
- Bottom Navigation Bar—controls for page navigation, zoom, and fullscreen.
- Main Viewer—the central area where the PDF page is displayed.
- Right Sidebar—tabs for Comments, Metadata, and Shortcuts.
The top navigation bar runs across the full width of the player and is divided into two sides.
Left Side
- Back button—navigates back to the asset's location (project or folder). Opens in a new tab so you don't lose your place in the review.
- Asset name—displays the name of the currently open PDF.

Right Side
- Status—a dropdown to update the review status of the asset (e.g. Needs Review, Approved). Changes are reflected immediately across the project.
- Theatre Mode—toggles between Default Mode (sidebar visible alongside the PDF) and Theatre Mode (PDF expands to full width, sidebar hidden). Also accessible via the keyboard shortcut T.
- More Actions (...)—a menu with additional asset options:
- Asset Details—view and copy the asset's ID and path, useful for sharing context with teammates or raising support tickets.
- Share Asset—open the share modal to invite collaborators for review, approval, or download.
- Copy Link—copy a direct link to the asset for quick sharing within your team.
- Go Next—jump to the next asset in the current folder
- Go Previous—jump to the previous asset in the current folder.

Left Panel—Page Thumbnails
A scrollable strip of page previews runs along the left side of the screen. Each thumbnail shows a miniature version of the page, making it easy to visually scan and jump to any section of the document. Click any thumbnail to jump directly to that page. Toggle the panel on or off with Shift + T or the thumbnail icon in the bottom-left corner of the player.

Main Viewer
The main viewer is the central area where the PDF page is rendered. It adjusts to your zoom level and fills the available space between the left panel and right sidebar. Use the bottom navigation bar to move between pages, adjust zoom, or enter fullscreen for a distraction-free review experience.
Right Sidebar
The right sidebar provides three tabs for collaboration and reference, consistent with the rest of the ProView player:
- Comments—leave and manage page-anchored comments. Each comment is tagged to the page you're viewing when you write it.
- Metadata—view the asset's properties and technical details such as file name, upload ID, and asset path.
- Shortcuts—a quick-reference panel listing all keyboard shortcuts available in the PDF player.

Comments on PDFs
Comments in the PDF player work the same way as on other assets, with one key difference: comments are anchored to a page number rather than a timecode. The comment input shows a Page - [number] badge instead of a timecode.
Sort comments using the Page Number dropdown—by Page Number (default), Latest First, or Oldest First.
All other comment actions—reply, edit, resolve, delete, public/private visibility, filter by type, download — work identically to video and image assets. See Review Comments for full details.
