If Admins want to provide a specific set of permissions to a Group's members, they can do so using Group Permissions functionality.

Group Permission Levels

Group Permissions can be modified at two levels.

  1. Team Level - Under Team Settings, Team Admins can set default permissions for a Group. These default permissions will be carried over to all the projects and folders shared with the group.
  2. Project Level - Within a team's projects, Project Admins can further modify a group's permissions for their project. These changes will be applied only for the specific project.

Group Permissions at Team Level

Team Admins can modify the default Group's Permissions as follows:

  1. Go to Team Settings > Groups tab
  2. Select the group you want to change permission for
  3. Under Group Actions > select Change Permissions
  4. On Group Permissions pop-up
    1. Select the appropriate default permissions.
    2. Hit Update

Group Permissions at Project Level

Project Admins can modify a group's permissions to suit their project needs as follows:

  1. On the selected project, go to Groups tab
  2. Select the group you want to change permission for
  3. Under Group Actions > select Change Permissions
  4. On Group Permissions pop-up
    1. Select the appropriate default permissions.
    2. Hit Update

This change will not impact the default permission of the group at Team Level. But, it will override any default values for this specific project.

FAQs

1. In case of conflict between Team and Project Level permissions, which permission will be prioritised?

For a permission that's modified at team and project level, the last configured permission level will prevail for the given project.
