After a Group is created by Team Admin, a Project Admin can share their project's access to the Group.
Steps to add Groups to a Project
A group can be added to a project in the following ways.
- Open the project where you want to add the group.
- Find Add Groups button in one of the following ways.
- Groups tab: If no any group has been added to a project, you can click Groups tab and click on Add a group button.
- Using + New button: Click + New button, and select Add Groups from the dropdown.
- + Add Groups button: Click +Add Groups button as highlighted in the image below.
- It will open Add Groups pop-up, where you can select any number of groups you want to share the project with.
- Hit Add Group button.


Group Permissions for a Project
Group Permissions are applicable to all the Group Members. Project Admins can decide project access permission for the group in the following manner.
- Go to the Groups tab in the selected project
- Click Group Action (...) button > Click Change Permissions
- Select appropriate permissions on Group Permissions popup
- Hit Update

Project Group Members
Project Admins can update project group members in the following manner.
- Goto the Groups tab in the selected project
- Click Group Action (...) button > Click Manage Members
- As per your need, you can either Add new members or Remove existing members

FAQs
1. I cannot find anything when I open Add Groups pop-up.
If you cannot find any group in Add Groups pop-up, it's likely that your team admin has not created any group yet. Ask your Team Admin to create a group to the team.
2. What is the difference between Shared Group vs Project Group?
- At Project level, if the whole project is shared with group, it's called Project Group. All the Project Group members will have access to the whole project as per the set of permissions enabled for the group.
- At Project level, if one or many folders are shared with group, it's called Shared Group. These users cannot the whole project, but only the folders they are shared.
3. What are the default permissions for Project Groups and Shared Groups?
Default permissions for Project Groups and Shared Groups are.
- Upload Assets
- View All Assets
- Assign Approvers / Reviewers
- Change Asset Status
- View and Edit Public Comments
The Project Group members have these permissions for the whole project, whereas the Shared Group members have these permissions for the folder they are shared with.
4. What happens to users who haven’t signed-up on Postudio, but added to group as a member?
- If the group is added to a project or a folder, the user will get an email notification to sign-up on Postudio. After they sign-up, they will become part of the group and they will start receiving all the updates.
- If the group is not added to any project or folder, the user will not be notified.
