Safe area guides display overlay grids on the video frame so you can check whether key content (titles, logos, action) falls within the safe zone for a given aspect ratio or delivery format.

Enabling Safe Area Guides

  • Open a video asset in ProView.
  • Click the Settings gear icon in the player controls (bottom right).
  • Select Safe Area.
  • Choose the aspect ratio guide you want to overlay:

GuideCommon use
OffNo guide displayed (default)
1:1Square (social media)
16:9Widescreen (broadcast, YouTube)
9:16Vertical (Reels, Shorts, TikTok)
4:3Classic TV / Legacy formats
The overlay appears on the video frame and remains visible during playback.
The currently active guide is indicated with a checkmark (✓) next to its name in the menu. The selected guide is also shown as a label next to Safe Area in the Settings dropdown (e.g. Safe Area — 1:1), so you can tell at a glance which guide is active without opening the submenu.
Turning Off Safe Area Guides
Open Settings gear > Safe Area > Off.
Applies to: video assets only. Safe area guides are not available for audio, image, or PDF assets.
