Organize Assets
Copy, move, or rename files and folders across your projects and folders.

A tidy workspace keeps editing efficient. The Organize menu lets you rename an asset, or copy and move it between folders, projects, and even teams, so everything stays where your team expects it. The same options are available for folders.
The Organize Options
On the Asset Action (...) menu, select Organize and choose one of:

| Copy Asset | Place a copy in another folder, project, or team, leaving the original where it is |
| Move Asset | Relocate the asset to another folder or project within the same team |
Renaming an Asset or Folder
- Go to your Project Page and locate the asset or folder.
- On the Asset Action (...) menu, select Organize → Rename.
- Enter the new name and confirm.
Tip: Names follow Postudio's naming rules — see Supported Special Characters for what's allowed in file and folder names.
Copying or Moving
- Go to your Project Page and locate the asset to organize.
- On the Asset Action (...) menu, select Organize.
- Choose Copy Asset or Move Asset. The pop-up confirms the scope — "Copy this asset within this project or between projects."
- Click Select a project and pick the destination. The dropdown lists projects you have access to, each labelled with its team name in parentheses — e.g. First Project (ProView). Use the Search box to filter the list.
- Choose a target folder.
- Click Copy or Move.
Note: Copy can target a project in another team; Move stays within your current team (projects from other teams won't be valid move destinations). Either way, you only see projects you have access to.
Tip: To copy or move several assets at once, use Multi-Select Assets.
FAQs
How do I know when a file has moved to another project?
After you click Move, you'll get a "Move file initiated" notification. Click it to jump to the destination and track the move status.

Can I copy or move an asset to a different team?
You can copy an asset to a project in another team — the destination dropdown lists projects across all teams you belong to. Move is limited to projects within your current team.

I get an error when I try to Organize.
The Organize action is always visible, but running it requires Organize Assets permission. Without it, Postudio shows "Ask your team/project admin to enable this feature." Also remember you can only copy or move between projects you have access to. Contact your Project Admin to enable the permission.
