Due date options
The due date controls when a task expires. Selecting a preset calculates the expiry date from the creation date and displays it in the form before you confirm.

- 7 Days—task expires 7 days from the creation date. Use for short turnaround work that needs a prompt response.
- 30 Days—task expires 30 days from the creation date. A reasonable default for standard project deliverables.
- 60 Days—task expires 60 days from the creation date. Use for longer-running work or tasks with a soft deadline.
- No Limit—the task has no expiry date and will never move to Expired status automatically. You will need to manually mark it complete or delete it when the work is done.
- Custom—enter a number of days between 1 and 365. Use when you need a specific deadline that doesn't align with the preset options.

Note: Once a due date passes without the task being completed, the task status changes to Expired automatically. The task remains open and can still be edited, reassigned, or completed. See Tasks Overview for a full explanation of statuses.
